Formerly a 16th-century coaching inn, the Three Tuns is part of the Swallow group of hotels. Boasting a wonderful location, in the heart of Durham, it retains a distinct historical charm, with numerous traditional features, such as stained glass ceilings, extensive oak panelling, original woodcarvings and open fireplaces.
The hotel has 50 guestrooms, comprising 15 single rooms, 15 twin bedded rooms, 11 double rooms, 5 double executive rooms (which can also accommodate families), 1 family room (suitable for two adults, two children) and 3 suites. All bedrooms have satellite TV, trouser press, fan, iron and ironing board and en-suite bathroom.
Dining is available in the Brown's Restaurant, which provides a comfortable and relaxed setting in which to enjoy the excellent freshly prepared cuisine and wide selection of dishes and drinks.
